CoE (Comply or explain) offers the flexibility to fit with the large diversity among and within the different EU Member States. The quality of explanation is the core factor for upgrading the legitimacy of the CoE approach. However, defining quality requirements is not a straightforward exercise. With its printed report, ecoDa wanted to feed further the debate and to enhance the European discussions.

The IBE, in commissioning this report, wished to understand whether there is guidance for companies in governance policies, at national and EU level, on ethical business practices.

How to Make Boards Work offers a unique view of the thinking and doing of governance. The outside-in perspective offers a holistic framework highlighting how global cultural, social and political diversity impact boards of directors. The inside-out perspective emphasizes how governance and boards can effectively realize sustainable value creation.

The European Commission has adopted a Green Paper that launches a three-month public consultation on how to foster the supply of long-term financing and how to improve and diversify the system of financial intermediation for long-term investment in Europe. 

GUBERNA (Belgian Governance and Director’s Institute) brings out this research on the remuneration of non-executive directors to provide an overview of the package and level of director remuneration in listed companies.
